Twenty years ago on New Years Eve, David sang "Looking for Freedom" in front of half a million people at the historic Brandenburg Gate. Today, he's back in Berlin for the 20th Anniversary celebrations. He will also present at the MTV Europe Video Music Awards tomorrow in Berlin.

I just came across an article saying that he wouldn't talk about that day 20 years ago while on the red carpet for the MTV awards? That seemed odd?
I saw that article.. but he was interviewed on the red carpet by MTV and he talked about it just fine, saying it was an amazing experience. Here is linkage to the video: David at the MTV Europe Music Awards
